LSU is now 17-2 after another big win on the road facing Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Tiger's came back after a tough loss against Auburn and have gained their fourth win in SEC play.

After a very tight first half the Tiger's came out the locker room and cleaned up their game in the second half to pull away and take a 78-58 win over Alabama.

Let's look below at some Observations I made throughout the Tiger's 78-58 win.

Struggles from Downtown

LSU is known for passing the ball in the paint to either Aneesah Morrow, Angel Reese or Aalyah Del Rossario. The Tiger's started off hot with Hailey Van Lith throwing a hard pass to Reese under the basket.

Flau'jae Johnson shot her first three with seven minutes left in the first quarter which gave LSU the lead 5-2 over Alabama. LSU couldn't make a three after Johnson's, finishing the first quarter 1-for-7 and 14.3% from the three-point field goal.

The Tiger's came into the second quarter with a different gameplan focusing more on getting the ball in the paint as much as possible. They shot 1-for-2 from behind the arc. Morrow was able to make her first and only three of the first half, with two minutes left till halftime pushing LSU to a bigger lead 34-27.

What a first half by LSU's forwards

What a tight first half from the Tiger's and Bama. Alabama looked like they came into this game knowing what LSU is most known for which is getting the ball to their forwards. Alabama's defense could not stop LSU in the paint as well as they probably wanted too

Reese who is 6-foot-4 and unstoppable in the paint managed to put up a fight to either make a shot or make her way to the free throw line. Reese was not seen as much as she usually is at the line, only making an appearance one time in the second quarter.

Let's not forget the 6-foot-6 freshman Del Rosario. She played with confidence, and it showed with two layups back-to-back in the second quarter. Del Rosario is still working and developing as a player, but her future in Baton Rouge looks bright.

Pulling away in the second half

The Tiger's started the second half down by one point, but that changed when Mikaylah WIlliams shot a two pointer outside the paint. Not long after, Morrow darts a pass to Williams under the goal allowing a hook shot making the score.

LSU gained their largest lead 49-38 after Van Lith makes her first three-point in the third quarter. The Tiger's were seen more times at the free throw line with a total of 21 times.

Reese gaines her 10th double-double this season after getting a defensive rebound for the Tiger's. LSU bounced back with big offensive plays allowing a more successful second half.
