LSU gets papers from five-star Naz Reid

BATON ROUGE – LSU Basketball Coach Will Wade and the Tigers completed a signing trifecta with the papers being approved on five-star forward Nazreon Reid of Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The 6-10 power forward is ranked No. 19 in the Class of 2018 by Rivals.com. Reid prepped at Roselle (New Jersey) Catholic school.

He played this past summer for Sports U and averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. For Roselle as a junior he averaged 13.8 points and 9.1 rebounds a contest. He helped lead Roselle Catholic under Coach Dave Boff to the Tournament of Champions title.

“We are happy to have Naz Reid joining our LSU basketball family,” said Coach Wade. “He is a player that brings a combination of strength, length and a shooting touch with him that will have an immediate impact on our program next season. He has the type of game that will easily transfer to college play when he arrives at LSU. We look forward to working with him and adding to his game to prepare him for the next level.”

According to SB Nation, Reid has a 7-5 wingspan and a vertical of 19.5” with a standing reach of nine feet.

Reid joins LSU’s two-four star recruits that signed on the opening day of the early signing period – local product Ja’Vonte Smart of Scotlandville Magnet High in Baton Rouge and Darius Days of IMG Academy in Sarasota, Florida. Days is from Raleigh, Florida.
