"It is an understatement to say that we are tired right now," said LSU head coach Yvette Girouard. "In all my years as a coach, I have never had to play three games in one day in an NCAA Regional."
The Tigers eliminated both Louisiana-Lafayette and Massachusetts from the tournament. LSU will play Arizona State at 1 p.m. and must defeat the Sun Devils twice in order to advance to the WCWS in Oklahoma City, Okla., next week.
"I am proud of my team for coming back from the emotional loss to Arizona State, after letting the game just slip away from us," said Girouard. "They came right back to defeat Massachusetts, knowing they had to win that game and two on Sunday.
"I am going to go home tonight and look back and how many times I had to win just one game on Sunday to go to the WCWS and didn't do it. I know that it can be done and we are confident that we can get it done tomorrow."

Coach DeFeo told me to go to second and when I rounded first the umpire signaled home run and I almost passed out.
"I have never hit a home run, ever. I haven't hit one while I have been at LSU and I didn't hit one in high school. I haven't even hit a home run in batting practice."
